About the Author
Julie Henning
Julie Henning was born in South Korea near the end of the War in 1953. Her father was a GI (she never knew) and her mother was devoted to her daughter until she died when Julie (Goo Sooni) was 13.
Nobel Prize winning author Pearl S. Buck found out about the orphaned, hardworking Amerasian student and brought Julie to America in 1968. At the time of Miss Buck’s death, Julie was adopted. She was 19 years old.
Julie married Doug in 1977. They have two sons, two daughters-in-love, and five grandsons all living close-by.
